Well just like that, we are four. It seems like only a few weeks ago we were making this same trip to Kentucky to pick up our first child, Claire, who was born August of 2010.
A few months ago Claire's mother Christy emailed me and informed us that she was with child again and asked if we would be open to keeping brother and sister together. We were honored and blown away that she would give us the biggest blessing in our lives not once but twice. We did pray about it, but it was clear what God's plan was for these two babies. We gladly accepted and started preparing for our future son.
Early this morning, just after midnight, we got a call from Christy's mother that she was on her way to the hospital in labor. We got the last few items together not already pre-packed and bought a couple of tickets for the first flight out of Austin. We arrived around 1pm only to find two of our suitcases never made the connecting flight. No worries. As my sister-in-law reminded me, the best package had already been delivered. She could not have been more right.
We are already exhausted from the full day of travel, but look forward to many years watching this tiny baby boy grow up to be a man who will know, love, and serve the Lord.

Julie and David,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful baby!!! How wonderful to see our God work such miracles. It will be easy for you to trust Him more and more after experiencing His mighty works in bringing your children. Being priviledged to adopt is amazing and has given us a glimpse of how much our Father loves loves us by addopting us. May He open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings that you cannot contain. Mighty Blessings, Peggy and Jerry Knapp
Congratulations on baby #2!! God is truly amazing and works in such mysterious ways to bless us! Luke looks just adorable. I know Luke & Claire will both have fun playing with Carter & Miles! Amazing!!
