Happy 6 Months!

Happy 6 months to the AMAZING Luke! What a treasure you are.  You have found your voice, your tongue, and you're rolling all over to get to where you want to go.  You LOVE your big sister and she loves you. You have just started eating cereal and you are a little iffy about it but we know you'll be a big eater soon. We love you Luke - what a gift you are!

 

Five Months!

Happy 5 months to our little man!  At 5 months, Luke is SO close to rolling from his back to his tummy. He's also discovered his tongue and cracks  us up daily as he sticks it out at us. He loves his sister and loves his milk. He's growing like a weed and loves to cuddle. What a fun guy!

Playtime with Sister

Claire loves to play with you! She calls you her "baby" and reads to you, gives you toys, brings you your pacifier and tries to give you milk from her sippy cup. Which from her, is the highest compliment. We know you two are going to end up best buddies!

The Only Way to Sleep

You have turned in to quite the sleep champ. Your favorite way to sleep is with a blanket pulled over your face, which you do yourself. It causes some anxiety for mom & dad and lots of breathing checks but we remember that this is exactly how your sister liked to sleep.  So cute!

Four Months Old

Where did the time go??! You are getting so big little Luke! At 4 months you weigh 14 lbs., 8 oz. and our 24.75 inches long!  You are well on your way to catching your sister who is now an ever present playmate/annoyance in your life. :) She loves you ALOT and is always trying to give you toys to play with and books to read. We're not sure you like it, but it's really sweet.  OH, and you are quite the jumper! Your dad is really hoping this translates into a basketball scholarship from is Texas A&M Aggies. :)

ADOPTION DAY! January 18, 2012

Adoption Day for Luke! On January 18, 2012 our little man officially became Luke Gray Washington. We celebrated his adoption hearing in the same courthouse where we adopted Claire. It was wonderfully the same and uniquely special all at the same time. We are so thankful for God's gift of this perfect little guy. We are thankful for Christy who gave him to us and for our family for celebrating with us. We had a fun celebration with Poppie & Mamaw and later with Aunt Jen & cousins Kollyn, Reese & Tucker.

Three Months Old (December 30)

Well I guess our new year's resolution should be to get faster at uploading pictures and posting them on the blog!  Goodness we're behind!

You've started "talking" and giggling, especially when Dad tickles your toes.  You are smiling all the time. You love playing on your play mat (especially kicking the swinging toys).  You got a couple of new toys for Christmas but your sister quickly claimed them as her own.  (Don't worry, we'll get them back.)

We had a great Christmas and you got to hang with your new cousin Tucker who I'm sure will one day be your best bud!  You're already well on your way, with your matching Christmas PJ's.

2 Months Old (November 30)

At two months old, you're just beginning to smile at us!  It's so fun. We had an awesome thanksgiving and you were definitely at the top of our thankful list!

And under the heading of "wonderfully terrifying", your sister was so overcome with Christmas joy that she began to hug you. Repeatedly.

You weighed 11 lbs, 15 oz. at your 2 month appointment and like your sister - you're at 10% in height!
